Hyuk Joon Jung


Joon was born in Daegu, South Korea, and obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Sogang University (Seoul, South Korea). During his master’s degree, he worked on the development of nanomaterials including visible-light-active photocatalysts and anode materials for Li-ion batteries. He moved to Vancouver, Canada, to continue his graduate studies and completed his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of British Columbia. His Ph.D. studies focused on the development of neutral and cationic indium complexes for the synthesis of functionalized polymers. Currently, he’s a postdoc at UCLA. Outside of chemistry, he enjoys watching movies and traveling.
